A Bit About Dr. Benkley

Marie Benkley integrates natural and conventional treatment to offer you the most evidence-based care, informed by the best research available and her clinical expertise. Dr. Benkley’s primary focus is menopause and perimenopause care. She is passionate about supporting people comprehensively and proactively during this time of life, treating bothersome symptoms such as hot flashes as well as addressing other areas of health that can be impacted by menopause, including mental health, sexual health, cardiovascular health and bone health. Treatment plans may incorporate botanical medicine, nutraceutical supplements, lifestyle guidance, and/or pharmaceutical medication, including menopausal hormone therapy.

Other conditions Dr. Benkley commonly treats are menstrual cycle concerns (such as irregular or absent menstrual cycles, menstrual pain, and heavy menstrual bleeding), polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, hypothyroidism, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), depression and anxiety. She also treats cardiometabolic conditions, including hypertension, high cholesterol, prediabetes and diabetes. She is passionate about gender-affirming care and provides gender-affirming hormone therapy.

Dr. Benkley strives to listen deeply and work with you to develop a treatment plan suited to your needs and goals. Her approach is patient-centered, collaborative and trauma-informed. She maintains an on-going commitment to providing care that is inclusive of all races, genders, sexualities and bodies.

Dr. Benkley earned her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine (N.D.) from National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR, where she also completed two years of postdoctoral residency. She has advanced training in menopause care and menopausal hormone therapy and is currently completing a fellowship in menopause care with The Confident Clinician. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Benkley enjoys backpacking, powerlifting, riding her motorcycle and spending time with her partner and very energetic German Shepard pup.
