WELLNESS & PAIN RELIEF
in the heart of Portland
Mandala is here to support your daily wellness, pain, & stress relief needs, with practitioners who approach your care with a body-neutral, queer-positive, and trauma-informed lens. We are here to guide your healing journey in a way that centers you, exactly where you're at.
We prefer the phrase Complementary Medicine, over "Alternative", as we do not align with an "East vs. West" perspective. We believe that both the Western allopathic model and the Eastern holistic approach balance each other in ways that serve us all. We hope Mandala will be your home in Portland for holistic wellness.

FAQ'S
Acupuncture is often thought of in the treatment of back pain and injury, however acupuncture is also incredibly useful in treating anything out of balance in your body or mind. That includes pain, injuries and recovery from surgeries, as well as headaches, insomnia, allergies, fatigue, hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, sexual health/libido, painful periods, neuropathy…
Acupuncture uses tiny needles the width of a human hair. Sensations that are normal to feel with an acupuncture point are:
Nothing! It is super common to not notice a point going in at all.
Sometimes points that are more muscular illicit a dull achey feeling, which some people learn to crave, as they know those points are releasing tight muscles or trigger points.
Occasionally a point might feel briefly sharp as it passes through the skin, and we don’t want that to remain, so let your practitioner know if anything causes you discomfort and they will adjust it/relieve that for you.
Acupuncture and massage really shine in their ability to calm the overworked, burnt out human. We know first hand the havoc that chronic stress can wreak on one's health and mindset, and an acupuncture or massage treatment will prompt a deep sense of rest and relaxation, referred to scientifically as the parasympathetic state. The heart rate slows, breaths deepen, and the mind centers. This state is where the healing happens, similar to being in a deep sleep.
